User Properties

Create a new User Property

To use a user property, it must be created in Sym3 using the User Property Manager that can be accessed by:

• Ribbon > Home > User Properties

In the User Properties Manager, click on the + button. A dialog is shown:

• Owner: select the Equipment Type of the user property from the dropdown list.
• Type: will be the type of the property. Currently can be string, integer, double or Boolean.

Click on + Add creates the user property with a default name, as UserProperty1, in the User Properties Manager. Double-click on this name to change it. This name has to be unique for the selected equipment type and has to be different from existing properties.

Set the value of a User Property of an equipment

Once created, your user property will be available for each equipment of the owner equipment type.

To set its value:

• select the equipment to display its properties
• In the Property Panel, in the User Properties category, select the property and set its value.
